About this site
This website is an independent advocacy effort concerning People v. Freeman, St. Clair County No. 86-128340-FC, the case of Temujin Kensu (formerly Fredrick Freeman). It presents the public record, sourced information, and statements about the case. It is not affiliated with the Michigan Innocence Clinic, Mr. Kensu’s legal counsel, any court, or any government agency, and nothing here speaks for them. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Accuracy, sources, and corrections
We work to present the record accurately, and factual claims on this site cite their sources. Court documents, reports, and third-party coverage are provided for reference and remain the work of their original authors; where this site summarizes them, the underlying document controls. If you believe something here is inaccurate, tell us through the contact form. We review reported errors against the record, correct promptly, and note material corrections on the affected page.
Statements about the case
This site concerns a criminal case and names people who took part in it as the public record shows. Statements of fact are cited to that record; characterizations of what the record shows are the site’s opinion, offered in good faith. Mr. Kensu remains convicted as a matter of law; this site argues that conviction is wrong and asks the reader to examine the record.
Letters, calls, and messages you send
The site suggests a letter to the Governor and the Michigan Parole Board and provides their official addresses. You are responsible for what you send, and you send it yourself; this site never sends on your behalf. Keep all communication respectful. Do not use anything on this site to contact, harass, or investigate witnesses, jurors, case participants, or the Macklem family. If you have information about the case, use the tip form, which goes to counsel.
Tips
If you submit information about the murder of Scott Macklem, we pass it along to those working on the case and do not publish it. We are not affiliated with legal counsel and cannot make confidentiality promises; share what you are comfortable sharing. You may submit a tip without giving your name.
Content, links, and rights holders
Original text and design on this site may be shared for non-commercial purposes with attribution; journalists may quote it with attribution. Public records are in the public domain. Media, logos, photographs, and recordings belong to their respective owners. Links and embedded players from other sites (YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and others) are governed by those sites’ terms; we are not responsible for their content or practices. If you hold rights in material on this site and believe it is improperly hosted, contact us and we will respond promptly.

We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after a change is acceptance of it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
Privacy policy
What we collect
- Email updates. If you sign up, we collect your email address to send campaign updates.
- Contact form. If you write to us, we collect your name, email, the type of inquiry, and your message.
- Tip form. If you submit a tip, we collect what you choose to include and pass it along to those working on the case. A name is not required.
- Letter tool. The name, city, and state you enter fill in the letter on your screen only. We do not store or transmit the letter or your entries; you copy and send it yourself.
- Basic usage data. Like most websites, our hosting may record standard technical information such as browser type and pages visited, to keep the site running and secure.
How we use it
We use what you give us only to reply to you, send the updates you asked for, deliver tips to counsel, and improve the site. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and local storage
The site may store small preferences in your browser, such as your place on a page, so it works smoothly. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Embedded players from YouTube and other services may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the site and send email, with those working on the case in the case of tips, and when required by law.
Retention
We keep contact-form messages and email subscriptions only as long as the campaign operates or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from emails anytime using the link in any message. Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you through the contact form, and we will honor the request.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
